Congenital condition manifested by palmar and plantar ulcerating lesions with osteolysis involving distal phalanges of the fingers and toes. Acquired acro-osteolysis has been reported in workers exposed to vinyl chloride. There is an autosomal disorder, Cheney’s syndrome [MIM*102500], in which this finding is combined with Wormian bones, hypolplasia of the mandibular rami and basilar osteoporosis.
